Mandeville High School Prom Attendance & Ticket Policy

To preserve the tradition of Prom as an upperclassman milestone, Mandeville High School has updated the eligibility requirements for ticket purchases and attendance.

1. Ticket Purchase Eligibility

Only Juniors (11th Grade) and Seniors (12th Grade) currently enrolled at Mandeville High School are eligible to purchase tickets.

  • Students must be in good standing to purchase tickets.

  • Each Junior or Senior is limited to purchasing two (2) tickets: one for themselves and one for a guest.

2. Attendee Grade Requirements

To ensure the safety and appropriate atmosphere of the event, the following grade-level restrictions apply to all attendees (MHS students and outside guests):

  • Juniors & Seniors: Eligible to purchase tickets and attend.

  • Sophomores (10th Grade): May attend only if invited as the date of a Junior or Senior. Sophomores may not purchase their own tickets.

  • Freshmen (9th Grade) & Younger: Students in the 9th grade or below are strictly prohibited from attending. This applies to Mandeville High students and students from any other school.

3. Outside Guest Regulations

If a Junior or Senior wishes to bring a guest who does not attend Mandeville High School, the following rules apply:

  • The guest must be at least a Sophomore (10th Grade) in high school.

  • The guest must not exceed the age of 20.

  • Guest Approval Form must be completed and returned to Student Services no later than the Wednesday preceding the dance for verification of the guest's grade level and standing.

  • Photo identification (School ID or Driver’s License) is required for entry. Anyone found to be a Freshman or younger—regardless of having a ticket—will be denied entry.

    • Refund Policy: Tickets are non-refundable. It is the responsibility of the ticket-buyer to ensure their guest meets the grade-level requirements before purchasing.

4. Host Responsibility & Accountability

Mandeville High School Juniors and Seniors who purchase a guest ticket (for a Sophomore date or an outside guest) assume full responsibility for their guest’s conduct for the duration of the event.

  • Behavioral Accountability: Any violation of the MHS Code of Conduct by a guest will result in disciplinary action for both the guest and the MHS student host. This may include removal from the dance without a refund.

  • Check-in Requirement: The MHS Junior or Senior must arrive and check in at the venue at the same time as their guest. Guests will not be admitted to the Prom without their MHS host present.

  • Sophomore Dates: While MHS Sophomores are eligible to be invited, they are considered "guests" of the upperclassman. As such, the Junior or Senior host is responsible for ensuring their Sophomore date is aware of and follows all event rules.

  • Off-Campus Guests: If a guest from another school is asked to leave the event, the MHS student host may also be required to leave.
