NHS applications are released in January and are due at the end of February each year. In addition to the completed application, student requirements are as follows:
-must be in 10th or 11th grade
-at least a 3.5, unweighted, cumulative GPA
-no (or minimal) discipline record
-participation in other extracurricular activities
-turn in documentation (*see below) for 16 service hours from 4 different organizations (earned within one calendar year of applying and no more than 8 hours per organization)
-request teacher evaluation forms (provided in the application packet) to be turned in by 5 teachers.
Faculty council will review applications, and all applicants will be notified, by mail, of their status. Inductions are held at the end of April.
To remain in good standing, members must maintain at least a 3.5 GPA, unweighted, and earn 30+ service hours per school year.
*The documentation process, which is also outlined in the application, is:

-a note/letter on letterhead if from an outside organization (like clean-up day with Keep Mandeville Beautiful)

a club form if it’s for an MHS activity (like timing for a swim meet or selling concessions for a baseball game)
