Our School

THE COMMUNITY: Mandeville High School, one of eight public high schools in St. Tammany Parish, is located in Mandeville, Louisiana, a suburban community approximately thirty miles north of the metropolitan area of New Orleans, LA. Mandeville High has been recognized as a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence by the U.S. Department of Education.

CHARACTERISTICS:  Mandeville High School is a co-ed, public high school enrolling approximately 2,100 students in grades 9-12. Approximately 93% of our graduates continue their education, 89% to four-year colleges or universities and 4% to two-year colleges and other post-secondary institutions. 

 FACULTY:  There are 147 members on the professional staff, 73 of which have a Master’s degree or higher, including 4 with a Ph.D.

STRENGTHS

The minimum ACT score to qualify for the TOPS award is 20 or higher.
The percentage of MHS seniors scoring 20 or higher has increased by 3% from 73% to 76% from 2019 to 2021.
The highest assessment index score for LEAP2025 is English II with a 99.6.

The MHS Grad Cohort Rate has remained consistently strong with an 88.9% graduation rate from 2018 to 2020..

In the Spring of 2020, of the 218 MHS students taking 378 AP exams, 72% of the students scored 3 or higher,
thus being eligible for receiving college credit.

WEAKNESSES

Students with Exceptionalities (SWE) students are the lowest scoring subgroup in Algebra I  for the LEAP2025.
The lowest index score for LEAP2025 is Algebra I with a 72.3.
Seven percent (7%) of MHS students were non-graduates without HISET credit. (HISET replaces the GED diploma.)

Goal #1 

From Spring 2021 to Spring 2024 the school will increase                                   
its Strength of Diploma by 0.8 points each year.
