Introduction/Purpose
Mu Alpha Theta is a Mathematics National Honor society. Members participate in math competitions and events throughout the state. We also tutor students of all math.
Membership Requirements
Each year members must earn 200 theta's to stay in the club and 250 theta's to attend state Convention. Theta's are earned by attending meetings and participating in events. New members pay $10 in dues, and old members pay $5. All members are expected to sell planners.
Meeting Information

Mu Alpha Theta meets every other Monday at 6:00 pm in Ms. Disher's room, G-11.

Meeting Dates: (10 Thetas)
Check the planner and the bulliten board. We meet from 6:00 - 7:00 pm in Mrs. Dishers Room, G-11. If you are unable to attend a meeting, please pick up an Update from either Mrs. Disher or Ms. Borne.

Planners:
(7 thetas per planner, no more than 140 thetas can be rewarded.) Planner money ($70) is due as soon as possible! Thank you to all who have already turned in their money. You are required to sell 10 planners and any number above ten adds to your thetas.

Saturday Contests: (40 thetas)
These contests are free. The club pays the registration fee. However, if you sign up and then you fail to attend, you must reimburse the club for the wasted funds. St. Pauls - September 20th. Transportation will no be provided so please find a ride! It will be from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Please be on time. The club will pay all the money.

Events

Mu Alpha Theta members attend several math tournaments each year, including Mu Alpha Theta State Convention in the Spring. We also sponsor Middle School Math Night in March.

Induction:
All old members are required to attend. This is a meeting and it is worth 10 thetas. You will be asked to hand out programs, set up/take down chairs and manage refreshments. All old members should bring something (not drinks).

Math Mania in the Middle Schools:
We have the pleasure of hosting a middle school math competition one Friday night. All members will be required to help out. This event will give everyone a chance to earn 50 thetas. We are inviting children in grades 4-6. Advance registration will be most accepted! We will be feeding them pizza, playing math games, and administering math quizzes. All who wish to help plan this event please contact sometime in the near future! This, along with our planners will hopefully help us cover the costs of many Saturday competitions.
